Making Threads

There are a few things to remember when it comes to making threads. In the wrestling sections, please put some effort into your threads. “CM Punk rocks. Thoughts?” is not thread-worthy, at all. Also – this applies to any section – don’t make “Official” threads without asking about it first. Ask anyone on staff. We’ll figure it out and get back to you with our decision ASAP. Any “news” that you post MUST HAVE A SOURCE. Where did you get it from? Also, don’t just post news and then write, “Thoughts?” Share your thoughts, too. For tapings of Superstars, Smackdown, ECW, and iMPACT!, there are spoiler sub-forums. USE THEM. If you plan on posting any kind of spoiler in the Word Games section, then user spoiler tags. It's easy.

Flaming/Cursing

If you want to joke around with each other, be our guest. WCF is a very laid back site, for the most part. Any legitimately heated flaming will not fly, though. We’re not going to give infractions right off the bat, but if the flaming begins to take a thread off course or goes on too long, then we’ll intervene. As far as watching your language, a little cursing never hurt anyone. Just be reasonable about it. There’s no reason to curse up a storm. There definitely no reason be using any racial or sexual slurs, either. Cursing is allowed, but anything sexual or racial is not. Here at WCF, we know that jokes are jokes, but make sure you know who you’re joking with. Not everyone is going to share your sense of humor.

Spamming

The basis of WCF is that we’re creating both a laid back and fun site for people to spend their time at, AS WELL AS a forum that offers up some of the best discussions you’ll find on the net. So, with that being said, be sure to keep the spamming in the Word Games forum, please. As far as I’m concerned, spam is any response that doesn’t add anything constructive to the thread. So, basically, any off-topic comments, inside jokes, separate conversations, double posting, or the like would fall under that category. WCF isn’t run by Nazis. We’re not going to hit you with infractions immediately, but if it becomes a reoccurring issue then we’ll deal with it accordingly.

Also included in the spamming rules is our scrolling text BBcode. For those of you who don’t know, scrolling text can be done by simple wrapping the text in [*scroll] [/scroll*] –- minus the asterisks. Be sure to keep this in your signatures or the Word Games forum, please. This will be considered spamming. We don’t need scrolling text in every thread.

Signatures & Avatars

The sig limits here at WCF for registered users are 450 x 400 or 700,000 Bytes, whichever comes first. The avatar limits are 150 x 200 or 250,000 Bytes, whichever comes first. If you're a VIP member these aren't your requirements. Sig limits for VIP members are 500 x 500 or 2,500,000 bytes, again whichever comes first. Finally, avy limits for VIPs are 200 x 200 or 400,000 bytes.

If you don’t know how to check the dimensions of your images, simply right click and check the properties. Whatever image hosting site you’re using should tell you the dimensions and file sizes, so there’s really no excuse for you to not be aware of these numbers.

Also, make sure that there’s nothing too obscene in any of your images. Sigs, avys, and profile pictures should NEVER contain nudity, and keep any goriness to a reasonable limit, please. If you need to know what we’re going to consider a reasonable limit, you can always consult with any of the admin. We’re all pretty similar in how we see things.

Advertising

Here at WCF, we allow you to advertise in your signature – and ONLY in your signature. There’s one condition for anyone who runs or is one of the administrators at the site they’re advertising, though. If either of those apply to you, then in order for you to advertise here, you must agree to let us advertise at your forum. It’s only fair, right? Also, if it's obvious that you've joined just to advertise and are not interested in contributing to the forum positively with your posts, you'll be warned, given an infraction, and possibly banned depending on how long you wanna push your luck. Just don't spam so that people see your forum in your sig. Make posts that are worth posting.

Hopefully people can hear us out on this and be reasonable with what were about to put into place. Personally the staff would rather see everyone be happy in one way or another.

Relaxed Rules Forum Rules

Many of you are well aware of the drama that’s been going on here at WCF. We recently put new rules in place to stifle the style of posting that we’ve deemed detrimental to the site. In order to maintain our vision for the environment that this site provides, and will continue to provide, we felt that there were certain things that we needed to put a stop to - certain freedoms that we felt were being abused. Consequently, we’ve heard plenty of complaints, and been labeled as too strict, too quick to judge, and generally too up tight. Some say we’ve sucked the fun right out of WCF.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not undoing those decisions, but I did come to a realization. As the creator of WCF, and I’m sure that this goes for the rest of the admin team, my goal is to provide a fun and welcoming environment. We want everyone to feel welcome. I don’t have a problem with dark humor. Believe it or not, I have a dark sense of humor. It just so happens that posting in a straight forward manner is my way. I can’t expect that to be everyone’s way, though. So, long story short, I’ve come up with what you could call a compromise.

We’ve created a private forum for VIP members. The forum is called Relaxed Rules, and in that forum you’ll be allowed to do a lot more than you can on the rest of the site. The only catch is that if you receive an infraction, then your access to this forum will be revoked until your infraction expires. This is simply an incentive to keep the kind of posting that will go on in Relaxed Rules in that section. If you want to be able to post there and be a part of the fun, then you have to respect the rules of the rest of the site.

Another important part of Relaxed Rules is this. VIEWER BEWARE. What goes on in that forum will be of an offensive nature, and it is completely allowed. There can be no complaining about being flamed. If you enter Relaxed Rules, you're accepting the possibility that you may see something that offends you, and you may get flamed. What I’ve gathered from all the complaints about our new rules is that most of the posting that I’ve thrown a shit fit about is all in good fun. So, if you want access to Relaxed Rules, then you have to accept that what goes on in there shouldn’t be taken seriously. If a more crude, raw, and dark posting style is what you’re looking for, then that’s your forum.

I now understand and embrace the fact that fun is a relative term. Straight up wrestling discussion is fun for me, but for some, it’s fun to be a ball-buster. That’s fine. The only reason I had what’s been referred to as a “mental breakdown” is because I’m the kind of guy who wants everyone to be happy. There were some complaints about the things being said in Rants, and the RAPE jokes, and some other stuff. I admit that I freaked out a bit, because I felt like the disregard for people’s feelings was more of an attack on my site than a joke. I now understand that that’s not the case, and that’s why I’m providing anyone who enjoys offensive humor and a generally relaxed forum environment this alternative.

Breakdown

- Relaxed Rules is only for VIP members.
- If you receive an infraction, your access to Relaxed Rules will be revoked until your infraction expires. [B]Reminder to VIP Members:[/B] One active infraction costs you Relaxed Rules access. More than two active infraction points costs you your VIP membership until your total points are only two or less.

NOTE: If you're a VIP member and would rather not have access to this forum we can alter your permissions for you not to see it. Just PM me and I will take care of this for you.
